Nostalgia – a feeling that occurs at the sight of a particular phenomenon or object with which a person has a past, and causing warm memories, warming the soul. Oddly enough, I like nostalgic reviews, because it is an occasion to play the old and warmly beloved games that cause me that most pleasant feeling of nostalgia, even if some of them are strange objects of adoration. Hello everyone, Hamilton, and not without long foresight, I suggest you go with me on this exciting journey into the past, and this time talk about the game “Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure”.
Graffiti today is a type of street art, one of the most relevant forms of artistic expression around the world. There are many different styles and types of graffiti. The works created by graffiti artists are an independent genre of contemporary art, an integral part of culture and city lifestyle. Many countries and cities have their famous artists who create real masterpieces on the streets of the city. In most countries of the world, the application of graffiti to someone’s property without permission of the owner of this property is considered vandalism and is punishable by law. Sometimes graffiti is used to spread political and social messages. For some people, graffiti is a real art worthy of accommodation in galleries and exhibitions, for others – this is vandalism. Since the graffiti turned into an integral part of pop culture, it began to be associated with music in the style of hip-hop, hardcore, Bitdown and Break Dance. For many, this is a way of life hidden from the public and incomprehensible to the general public.
Among street artists, or so -called rangers, there are really many famous and recognized people, such as Cope2, Shepard Feyri, Banksy, Gaya, Futura 2000, Keith Haring and many others. All of them, without exception, stand out by an individual vision and style, like a person named Mark IVF, a famous American artist and designer. This man loves hip-hop and graffiti culture, which is why in 2005 he decides to tell the world why he loves all this so much, but not in some simple manner, but so that people can indirectly feel themselves in the skin of an ordinary street artist and survive his hard, full of somersaults, therefore, the method of narration was chosen through video games. So 2006 is the game “Marc Ecko’s Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure”, the developer of which was the now non -existent studio The Collective Inc., And the publisher was ATARI until December 2013, after which the game began to publish the Devolver Digital through the Steam service, and all this is under the keen look of Ecko Unlimited. The game came out then on 3 relevant platforms: PS2, Xbox and PC, as well as in the form of a simple arcade for mobile phones of that time, pretty good, I want to notice.

It is the game of an action-an advocate from a third person with elements of the BI-EPA elements with a length of 11 chapters of a single company. Each of the chapters is divided into several levels, and each of them is of different durations. The game tells about the difficult story of an ordinary African American boy named Koltrain Crowley, known as Train, who one day leaves the house of his grandmother to the streets in order to become a legend of street artists. However, he does not have time to get to the legendary pool of the yard, from which all the well-known paramedenes began, as the leader of the gang of the Vandals of the New Radius, namely Heiba, is already bombing, for which he and his gang gets on nuts and receives nuts. Being a bold guy and charismatic, as well as extremely vindictive, our protagonist decides to recapture a new house first, and then begin to win a place under the sun in this terrible city. Well, since you will be bored of listening to many plot peppers, but I am too lazy to tell me, we, perhaps, will return to the plot as usual, closer to the end of the video, but for now we move directly to the gameplay.

In addition to the main graffiti, which the player needs to be applied in order to complete the task and go to another level zone, the player can also apply bonus graffiti, also giving reputation glasses and opening more bonuses in the form of new techniques, arenus, damage bonuses, concept arts, etc.p. Also, the reputation is given for the implementation of freestyle-roots, peculiar challenges for a while or not for a time at which you need to apply a certain amount of tags, stickers or posters. In addition, the secrets in the form of gold spray cans with “Montana paint” are hidden at the levels that increase pressure in spray cans when working with graffiti, in the form of red or blue bags, increasing the health and scale of special receptions, which we will also talk about, as well as icons in the form of iPodes that add new tracks to the collection. Well, there are still rarely encountered stickers in the form of an Ecko Unlimited logo, which are too well hidden and sometimes you can not even notice such a sticker. In addition, it is important in terms of filling the game and studying the history of graffiti is the search for drawings of the legends of the world of street artists, here and there scattered by levels, as well as meetings with legends during the game, such as Cope2, Futura, T-Kid, Seed, Smith and Shepard Fayry Aka Obey. The levels themselves are linear locations in which you can and should be drawn, fight and look for secrets or legends of graffiti, and in general, they do not differ in great variety. However, the levels are rarely found where you need to score a train for a certain time, and I directly hate these levels in view of their difficulties, even if they are quite interesting, the levels where the game includes stelass, which is why you have to hide from opponents in the corners and roofs of the bobics, as well as the level where you will compete with the Gabe in the ability to draw large patterns, hanging from the walls and creating simply giant work. In addition to passing a single campaign while preserving and setting up a sketch-book, the player is given the opportunity to go through the plot chapter without preserving the corresponding function in the main menu, and in general they do not differ from a regular game, there is simply no way to preserve and you can not configure the sketchbook to their taste. Basically, you will have to run from the wall to the wall every now and then, filling the level of your graffiti, as well as enter into fights with opponents, the variety of which is generally not much, but it is. Here you have the artists of the New-Radius gang, and large guys, and hard workers, and fighters of the SSK units aimed at fighting street artists, also differing in diversity. Among other things, opponents can try to take it into capture, and if you succeed, then you can either score it with your hands or feet, thereby dropping it to the floor, or put the enemy into a crowd of enemies, a wall or even somewhere into the abyss so that life does not seem to him with honey. The enemy hung on Earth can be finished off by hitting with hands and legs, which generally adds a chance to the quick end of the battle. In addition, various boards, bits, pipes, cans with paint and garbage lids, which are so convenient and fun to distribute luli to the right and left, and the damage from which, incidentally, increases 50 percent, are so convenient and fun. By the way, if during the battle or simply, if you have fallen from a height, you will be damaged, then local first -aid kits in the form of cans with soda, presented in two types: one jars that replenish a small amount of health and ligaments of four cans that restore either all health or most of it, will help to make up for the supply of health. And, I almost forgot: in some cases to avoid a fight, the player can stun the enemy with a spray can with a paint on the head from behind. For this, oddly enough, you need to bend down to the enemy, standing with your back to you, clamp the attack and jump key, after which the enemy will be stunned, and this feature greatly facilitates the level of level, especially if you do not really want to spend time on useless fights. And, it seems, the gameplay part of the video ends on this, because I more or less prolified all the moments of gameplay, which is why we move, according to tradition, to the rest of the components of this game.

And we start, as usual, with graphics. And you know, despite the fact that the graphics is one of the best elements of the game, I have to admit that for 2006 it is a little outdated. However, I want to note that the content of the levels, the design of the characters and the encirclement is simply magnificent. All the characters presented are well blind, the locations are diverse, the design of graffiti of both the TRAN itself and the members of the “New Radius Vandals” and other street artists are simply made gorgeous, and a few words about the drawings of the TREN. The artists tried very much, having made the visual development of Trad’s work, as if showing that he was running around the streets with a spray can, but really develops his artistic skill. It is evident that a serious and painstaking work was done, and I am very grateful to the team of artists for this, because the environment fits very vividly into what is happening.
We go to the sound of the game, which is also made as for me, at a decent level, in any case, most. Sound Design in the game very accurately and vividly immerses in what is happening: all these rustles, sounds of streets, applied from the spray can and when he shakes it, sounds during fights and much more make you penetrate and feel in the skin of the main character. And the whole thing is complemented by the superbly selected soundtrack, which warms the soul and just enjoy it. There are a lot of cool musical compositions in the game, which for a long time stuck in my head and my playlist. As for the voice acting … well, here, as always, everything is ambiguous. I played for a record with localization from Akella, who was in the game when I met her, and once again thanks to the person who introduced me to her, and in general she was made well, but not without jambs both in the translation of the text and in the volume. In fact, the Russian voice acting is the voice of Peter Gennz and several other actors against the background as secondary characters in the game itself, and only Peter Glants in a few Katsets. And no matter how naughty this is, I give preference to the original voice acting and the text, even if our localization is pressing on nostalgia.
As for the plot, then as for me, it is fulfilled quite well. During the game, one and then the feeling is created that you are watching a film about the adventures of TRAN, and do not play the game, because often even the katsets are placed cinematic, which plays for perception. During the release of the game, the plot did not come to taste at all, but I really penetrated them. All these intricacies, the adventures of TRAN, the fight against the forces of the almost anti-utopian city of New Radius, all this at one time greatly carried away, and I was very imbued with it.

We will summarize everything that I said here. Undoubtedly, the pluses of the game can be considered a graphics, a sound component, atmosphere, plot and gameplay.
